Materials

You can use a wide range of fabrics. Velvet creates a beautifully deep black cat; sherpa, plush, or cotton canvas each give a different character. If your fabric is light, stretchy, or has little body, add fusible interfacing to help the cushion keep its shape.

• Black Cat: 17 × 17 in (42 × 42 cm) black fabric
• White Cat: 34 × 14 in (86 × 35 cm) white fabric
• Fusible interfacing as needed
• Small piece of yellow fabric for the eyes
• Fiber fill, approximately 10 oz (300 g) per cat
• Matching sewing thread; black and pink yarn for the White Cat details
• Scissors, pins, tape measure, ruler, and adhesive tape
